The equation behind the anisotropic mosaicity is:
This values for the mosaicity in h, k, and l are fit by making a variable substitution which effectively transforms the equation into a multivariate linear least squares problem. The best fit, with respect to the linear least squares, is calculated in a similar fashion to the linear least square problem but is expanded into multiple dimensions. Basically, it is a matrix formulation of the problem.
The system also provides the multivariate equivalent of the r2 value.
This function is accessed from a statistics window by pressing the "Calculate Anisotropic Mosaicity" button. The calculation is based on the reflections that have passed the filtering criteria.
