The MTZ file format is part of the is common and can be read by most image editing software. A detailed description of the format can be found at http://spec.ch.man.ac.uk/prog_man/ccp4/mtzlib.html. In order for BEAM-ish to properly interpret the MTZ file it must be generated by an executable compiled for the same system BEAM-ish is running on.
